I'm sold! Originally I thought that my suspicions that John McCain was in the throws of dementia had been confirmed. I couldn't grasp why he chose a virtually unknown candidate, from Alaska. (Alaska? really??) But after her speech, and a lot of the credit does go to her speechwriter, I am now a fan of McCain/Palin 2008. I'm not sure if her pageant experience gave her the poise and taught her to be articulate or if she was born with a natural talent, but she won me over! Her family was adorable too, especially the youngest little girl. She was a cherub!!! Did you see her holding the baby? She licked her hand and then tried to fix his hair, soo cute--
Why are the pictures so tiny?
I was watching it on PBS and one of the "commentators" said all the Bloggers will be behind her now. He said Bloggers like we are some kind of curse and byword. Of course I doubt he considers sweetmamak to be a force behind political machines, he's probably referring to those who actually get paid to Blog.
So Sarah is why an official Independent who not only voted for but campaigned for a real maverick in Kinky Friedman is getting behind a very conservative ticket of McCain and Palin. Good choice McCain, you've got another white suburban mother voting for you.
I just have to remember, she's not actually running for president, she's running for the office that John Nance Garner described as "spitting into a bucket."
But maybe in 4 or 8 years we'll be wondering who she's picking for her VP

I am soooooo with you on Palin! She blew my socks off!!! Her family is beautiful and I could really relate to her. It totally changed my mind that McCain does have some smarts afterall.
Oh and by the way on the Drudge Report, it states that she wrote the majority of her speech!!!! You go girl!!!!! :)
I forgot to say that I think the McCain/Palin ticket is by far MORE experienced too.
...and I'm not a raciest...(don't even know if I spelled it right.)
We voted for Alan Keyes when he was running for President. He is an awesome man with incredibly strong values but he's just not well known enough...yet.
I am totally on board with you. I'm not really into this kind of stuff, but I like her, a lot!!!! She will go far in the future. She will be the first woman President.
Yep, I think we have a good shot at winning this one! I honestly did not know who to vote for this year, even though I am staunch republican..I was very impressed with her and the things she said and stood for..I LOVE the slams and jokes that were directed at the demos! What a woman: smarts, brains, attractive, and humorous!
RIGHT ON!! I love Palin! And why does everyone have question marks after Alaska??? (oops) I lived there and went to school there for 4 whole years and loved it!
She is rockin' and totally kicks butt. Plus, she has more experience than Obama and his "community oranizing" skills!!!
Like a lot of things, I missed this last week in the midst of my fun family chaos. I heard really good things though - I'll have to look it up on You Tube. Thanks for the new phrase too - sadly, I had to ask someone what "I'm Drinking the Kool-Aid" meant... :)
I thought maybe it was a reference to something Palin said...
This isn't a comment on the post (although I agree!) -- but I wanted you to know that I am in touch with Sherri Jewkes Johnson. It's Sarah Davis that I don't know anything about. Sherri lives in California -- and if you want her email, I can send it to you. They were in Houston actually for some time, I think. Anyhow -- do you know anything about Sarah?
Didn't you just love those 80's hairdos and how young we all look?? Amazing. (I guess the girls WERE young - they were 12 and 13.) Sigh.
Brianne, the question marks after Alaska are because nobody knows anyone FROM There- I've met you who went to college there and I've known two boys who went there to work on fishing boats, but other than that I only thought people went their on cruises! LOL-
Just another informed american~!
I drank the kool-aid right along with you. I thought she was awesome.
I'll be the only dissenting person validating (or unvalidating) you...I'll be voting for Obama. Shouldn't be too surprising since I'm from the land o' liberals!!! It scares me to have a v.p. who didn't know what the duties of the position were until 3 weeks ago.
Kareena, my BFF's parents own vacation condos in Costa Rica...they live there too. I can get you their contact. Since I worked for them for 8 years perhaps they'll cut you a deal.
