Two Thumbs Down

Joely is giving up the thumb
And it's hard.
So last night she kept asking ever so sweetly,
"Are you sure I can't use my thumb?"
and I kept telling her no, but to use her blankie for comfort.
She finally wrapped the blue blanket around her head and went to sleep.
This morning she cried for her thumb and kept looking at it.
It's going to be a rough two weeks for her, but she can do it.
I do hate hearing her cry for something that she loves,
I'm sure this is one of the life lessons that will make her stronger,
If it doesn't just kill her.

I'm amazed that she doesn't just do it anyway--especially while she's sleeping. That just goes to show how amazing she is. I would sneak it if I wanted it that bad haha!

I'm amazed she doesn't put it in at night- I think I was 8 before I finally stopped- Quentin was 5 and he stopped with the aid of this nasty creme we'd put on his nails. I DO feel that baby's pain.. She's doing real good and last night she was very proud of herself.

Wow! I am impressed by her self control! I remember being old enough to have to hide that I was still doing it. That is such a cute picture of her. It looks like you guys are having a great summer!
