I didn't think to put my camera cord in my bag when I fled from Crosby, but if I did you'd see we are not exactly having a bad time as refugees. Dad heated the pool two days in a row. It's been a blast to lounge and swim. Yesterday Alex Pena and her boys Daniel and Jacob came by to swim and play. They are fellow Crosby Refugees, Cub Scout pals and best friends. They are staying with their Aunts in Bastrop. Tonight we go see Luci and her clan and play in their parklike Backyard. Grandma is in hog heaven with all the little people around.
I checked out centerpoint energy's restoration website, and it doesn't bode well for Crosby. They have assesed the damage and it's on the list of to look at after the 22nd. Most of Houston should be with power by Monday, the places hit harder will have to wait. Robert's plant brought in a generator so he and his people can get back to work. They hope to have full power by Monday also.
We miss Robert and Sammi Jo.

So glad you are having a nice little mini-vacation with your parents -- enjoy it!! You deserve it, that's for sure.
If you've got to be a refugee, at least you get to do it with Grandma & a pool!! That's hard to beat. :) What's going on with the schools? Are they just closed until everyone has power again?
I'm glad to hear your having some fun from all of this! When our power was out and Jon had the grill going full steam he said, "this would be great if we had a TV!" We have all our ammenities, but it's still spotty around us! Hope you get to go home soon!
Enjoy it because when you come home, there's tons of work to be done!!
We just got power yesterday and my house is a wreck. We've been camping out in the living room and we've been so exhausted with clean up outside that we just fall into bed after a cold shower.
Man...I never knew how much I'd miss a hot shower!! :)
Moving on and perservering....
In His Grip,
Karla
